Pros

Cons


  • Needs to be sealed
  • Is Pourus (which is why it needs to be sealed)
  • If not sealed it is more susceptiple to stains
  • Edges can chip (not common)
  • Never put raw meat directly on the surface

Quartz

Pros


  • Does not need to be sealed (non-pourus)
  • Safer for use with raw foods
  • More subdued Patterns
  • Less suseptiple to chips

Cons


  • Sheen is not always even
  • Should not set hot pans on it
  • Can look "Manufactured"

Marble

Pros


  • Unmatched Beauty
  • Better choice for a lower traffic area

Cons


  • Much softer than Granite or Quartz
  • Suseptible to stains & scratches
  • Must be sealed
